Done in a dark room with 2 Flashes and the camera set on BULB

Bounce Flash with Fill Card

Bounce Flash (I prefer this one because it gives the photo a softer look instead of the hard shadows and lines of the direct flash.)

Direct Flash (Too "hard" and lighting isn't very satisfactory)

Free Project 5: PERCEPTION

Perception: What do you want your audience to see? What parts of your picture or object do you want visible and what parts do you want more subdued and in the shadows? What point are you trying to make with the angle you decide to use?

Free Project 4: ANGLE

The angle in which you capture an object or an event is vital to the overall effect of your photograph. It can emphasize certain parts of the photo and can also help to determine the particular mood or tone of your picture.

Free project 2: SLOW SHUTTER SPEEDS AND LIGHT

This effect works best at night or in low light.

1)Set your camera to a very low shutter speed (10 or lower).

2)Make sure you have the flash on as well.

3)Position the camera so it is slightly off-centered on whatever colored light you are using. ( In these pictures, I used the light from restaurants and traffic lights (street scene)

4)Press the shutter button and pan (move) the camera smoothly and quickly across and past the light you are using.

5) Admire the amazing results!!! You NEVER get the same pattern twice :)

Free project 1: Portraits of Friends

I made sure the background wasn't all the way in focus. Then I boosted (enhanced) the color to make her skin tone and shirt stand out more. I also cropped it to limit clutter.
